Redmi Note 8 2021 is now official with Helio G85 chipset
Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi has been involved in a short but intensive teaser campaign for its latest product, and all of that has built up to this moment - when the new Redmi Note 8 2021 is listed on its global website in full. As the name implies, this is basically a refreshed version of the original Redmi Note 8 from 2019, a model which surpassed 25 million units sold across the world. We're not sure if that makes it the most successful member of the long-running Redmi Note line, but it sure is one of the most successful handsets to bear that name. The new version comes with MediaTek's Helio G85 chipset at the helm, runs MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11 out of the box, and has a splash-resistant nano-coating. The rest is pretty much unchanged, save from a downgrade in maximum resolution for video capture for the main camera. The Redmi Note 8 2021 also only has two storage versions, both with 4GB of RAM: you can get it with 64GB or 128GB of space. It's cut down on colorways too, only being available in three of them (down from five on the original): Neptune Blue, Moonlight White, and Space Black. But seriously, everything else is exactly the same.So you're getting a 6.3-inch 1080x2340 LCD touchscreen with Gorilla Glass 5 on top, a quad rear camera system (48 MP main + 8 MP ultrawide + 2 MP macro + 2 MP depth), a 13 MP selfie shooter, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a 4,000 mAh battery with 18W charging.
